About Parker Parker was found in a shelter with his brother in TN and brought to a foster home in Illinois. Parker is an adorable terrier mix puppy that is approximately 8-9 weeks old. Don't let this guys small size fool you, he is so full of personality and charm. Parker is a very clever, loving puppy. His foster mother reports that he loves people and gets along well with other dogs. Everyone that meets Parker falls in love with this little guy. He is content to sit in your lap, or play fetch. Like all puppies, Parker will need someone to continue his training, socialization, and housebreaking. To learn more about Parker please email Kathy at firstname.lastname@example.org Parker's adoption fee is $295 and includes neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, up-to-date on shots, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. Since Parker is just a baby, he will need a home where there will be someone to care for him during the day. If your family is away from the home for several hours at a time, please consider adopting a 'teen' or adult dog. Additionally, Parker is a small puppy, weighing in at just 6.5 pounds! So he will need a home with children over the age of 10. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email Kathy for an application at email@example.com. His adoption fee is $295 and includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, up-to-date on shots, fecal, deworming, frontline, 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, micro-chipping and 30 days of shelter care insurance. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email Kathy for an application at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please join us August 23, 2014 for our 'Wag-a-thon' at the Peg Bond Center in Batavia, IL. It is one of our main fundraisers this year and we need walkers! Please consider bringing your dog, your family and friends. Registration is only $25 and you receive a t-shirt. The walk-a-thon will help us pay down our veterinary bills for the dogs and puppies we have rescued this summer. We have saved 3 dogs with broken legs that have needed orthopedic care, 9 Heartworm positive dogs that have now been treated, one puppy that is blind and deaf, 5 dogs that were 9+ years and needed extensive medical care and 20+ moms with their puppies. This is in addition to the adult dogs that have come in emaciated, needing dental, and of course all needing spay and neuter, shots and micro-chipping. This is a great way to spend a Saturday morning and earn a T-shirt to boot! If you have adopted from Casey's Safe Haven Dog Rescue and 485 of you have; we would love to have you join our walk and bring your pup for updated photos. We will have a professional photographer there for pictures! For those of you that are competitive you can win prizes by asking others to sponsor your walk. (You do not have to raise additional money to walk) When you register you make a personal webpage to share with friends, family and coworkers - great prizes for our top pledge earners. But again, you can walk with only your $25 registration fee! This is a beautiful walk along the River and only two walks were allowed this year. We received one of the spots; help us make this a success. We hope to see you there! Register Now at: www.caseyswagathon.dojiggy.com (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-07-12-00460Winston (male)|
Winston is about 7/8 years old and still active. Loves to take walks and explore! Would be best to be the only dog or only male dog. Good with older (teen) kids. A secure fenced back yard would be a plus! Winston is a good boy! And he loves belly rubs!

|Rescue Me ID: 14-06-08-00126Skippy (male)|
This is Skip! I adopted him from Dewey Animal Shelter in Las Vegas in 2009. He was a stray, found wandering the streets. He may have been abused prior to being found and said to may have been a product of the housing foreclosure in Vegas at the time. He is very calm at home and loves attention but can be territorial when newcomers come over. When we go for walks or off the leash runs, he is very aggressive and can overreact. He barks and screams at the sight of squirrels, rabbits, birds, skateboards, bikes and sometimes cars that are too close. When approached by other people and dogs, he will assess the situation and can react poorly depending on the person or other dog. He is very aggressive towards larger males. I have had to board him this past year a few times due to traveling for work and the kennel said he was fine just likes to hump others. He has lived with other dogs and cats in the house and gets along and will play with them. When given the proper amount of attention, Skippy can learn anything. Being a Russell terrier, he is extremely intelligent and has plenty of energy. He knows various tricks: roll-over, sit, down, stand on hind quarters, speak, will jump and spin when you say 'Go Jets or Go Mountaineers!' (My favorite football team and alma mater,) and can catch fresbies. I work 40 hours, travel sometimes and have a 1 year old daughter and have not spent as much time as I used to with Skip. He can be acting out maybe feeling jealous and neglected. He is a great companion and I will miss him deeply if he is gone. But he needs the attention and companionship he deserves and I cannot send him back to another shelter. Please someone, help me find him a good, happy home, please!! (Less)
