The dog Eddie on the T.V. show Frasier is a Parson Russell Terrier. A Parson Russell Terrier saved five New Zealand children from being attacked by two pit bulls in 2007. Parson Russell Terriers are descended from fox terriers bred by Parson John Russell in England in the early 1800s. Parson Russell's Terrier, Trump, was depicted in a painting commissioned by Edward VII, Prince of Wales, who was a friend of the parson.
